@AKAHayling Lolol do The Kids These Days™ even know what Homestar Runner is? You're speaking my language😉💖

@sortinghat The kids, sadly, do not know what a Homestar Runner is. :p But Chaps are making new content for YouTube, so I could give an eff what those dumb kids think .:D

@AKAHayling Hahaha. That's what it boils down to, at the end of the day... "I like what I like and I give no fucks what anybody else thinks😎"

@sortinghat
Hello there! I'm sure you will find lots of supportuve and wonderful people on Mastodon, but I hope you have professionals and people in your personal life to help you through the rough patches.

Anyway, I love table top RPGs but I've never heard of Burning Wheel or Uncharted Worlds! What are they like?

@1stPersonTooter Oh man, let me tell you! I don't know if you're familiar with Apocalypse World / any of the "powered by the Apocalypse" RPGs? The D&D analogue, Dungeon World, is a much more trimmed down version of fantasy RPG so you can buy one nice little paperbacks rather than 20 different D&D books. As a person who didn't grow up playing RPGs, it's much less intimidating! Uncharted Worlds is the sci-fi spinoff of Apocalypse World basically. Much more focus on RP rather than rules, I find.

@1stPersonTooter Similarly, Burning Wheel is an RPG much more focused on intrigue and relationships than combat. My wife and I have been watching the Youtube series "Roll20 Presents: The Burning Wheel" which gives you a pretty good feel for how the gameplay works, if you want to try watching an episode or two. I feel like these games also encourage a lot more world building as a group (if that's what you like) rather than prefabricated settings and rules handed down by the GM.
