I want to write *something* about this for a while, but I'm still sorting out my feelings and emotions about this.
I was actually a huge fan of the original Roseanne sitcom, the one that ended in 1997.
Since then, the political views of the person Roseanne Barr went "somewhat" of the rails. 1/?
First, she is an absolute fanatical muslim hater. Second, she turned out to be one of the most influencial TERFs. And she believes in absolute absurd conspiracy myths, like the QAnon thing. Unsurprisingly (in a sense) she was a vocal supporter of Trump. 2/?
Now, she's doing her old show again. Unfortunatly it's extremely successful: 18 million ppl turned in, mostly from the deep red states. I haven't seen the original, but she basically says the MAGA line and calls the not-far-right MSM fake news, and all? It's wild. 3/?
Of course, Barr exploits this in her new show. In the fictional universe of the Connors, the economic crash has hit them just as hard as ppl in real life.
That's a pretty smart move given that liberals really have thrown working class ppl under the bus in the last 30 years.
I forgot to mention that "liberal" comedians like Sarah Silverman and Heather McDonald really like the show.
Yeah. Doesn't supprise me at alll.
@lea_eule Is it at least funny
sure, there are some moments. but still not worth the bs.
A silly instance of Mastodon for queer folk and non-queer folk alike. Let's be friends!
