Star Trek Discovery S3

If "the burn" instantly cut off the entire galaxy from communicating, how does everyone agree on what it's called and know what happened?

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@fluffy How far along are you?

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@Azure I admit I probably missed some damn subtle line that explains everything but like it sounds like even the subspace relays went down pretty much immediately?

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@fluffy I was half wondering if everyone agreeing it's called 'the Burn' is related to the Mysterious Music spreading all over, and if there might be some other information everyone agrees on that they shouldn't all know.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@Azure Oh, that's a good point. Although the mysterious music is the first thing that's starting me getting annoyed with how this season is probably going to go after all. I bet it turns out Michael's mom seeded the music everywhere and it's like the most annoying Doctor Who trope.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@fluffy I'm worried they'll do something awful like that but hoping they won't.

I'm also wondering if they're going to decide that the red angel transit somehow caused The Burn, which I would not like.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@Azure I wouldn't put any of these ideas past them. But I really hope they actually subvert my expectations by making this season good, for once.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@fluffy I'm honestly pretty happy with it so far. I feel like shedding the ridiculous and nonsensical prequelitude will remove a lot of problems with their storytelling overall.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@Azure Oh yeah don't get me wrong, so far I've found it fantastic. I'm just getting really suspicious with the mystery music thing.

re: Star Trek Discovery S3

@fluffy So long as they don't decide in the penultimate episode that Michael Burnham is a Paradine鈥

Then again, DS9 did that with Sisko.
