This is because someone put something in the Gender Census feedback box about it having racist origins, and I was like, now I wanna know what the origins are - and "it might be racist though" is why I need the sources.

@cassolotl that's most likely not about the origin of the term itself but a reference to the Discourse™ about whether "nb" should stand for non-Black or nonbinary. not that you should take my word for it but i strongly suspect that's what they're thinking of
