Could folks please boost this out as far as possible? I want to get it into gender-critical circles.

Could people send me links to articles about specific incidences of cisgender men legally identifying as women in order to access female spaces and abuse cisgender women?

I'm especially interested in articles about incidences in countries where self-identification of legal gender is a thing.

Thank you!

(If anyone responds in any way other than giving me a link or a lead to a link, I will probably block you. I will not be debated or insulted.)

Gonna add some keywords so that the gender-critical people in the trending topics will see my request and maybe help out with some links: Liz Truss, self ID!

I've added a section to the page of trans-related lists on my wiki: wiki.polyinpictures.com/index.

It's under the list of countries who have self-declaration for legal gender. It's a list of articles about cis men abusing that system. It is currently empty.

I've had two replies so far, and neither article was about a cisgender man legally identifying as a woman, let alone doing so to abuse women in female spaces. There must be *some*, the gender-critical folks can't just be completely making it up, surely? 😬

@cassolotl ngl I'm kinda tempted to just reply with that article the next time i get dragged into an argument with a terf from now on 🤣 if that's ok with you?

@julia Yeah that's fine with me! Maybe one of them will get back to me with an article backing up the claim, that'd be interesting! :P

@cassolotl oh by the way I just saw this, thought you might be interested: a study apparently finding that there hace been zero reported cases of a man pretending to be a woman to commit a crime in a bathroom, though i haven't had the chance to look through it myself

@julia Oh that's super interesting, thank you! :) I will add it to my wiki page.

@cassolotl when I first read this I was like "good news? Is this sarcastic?" So I had to click through to see if it is good news, and it was, so, nice!

@cassolotl You are on an instance that suspends most instances with a reasonable GC population. If this has made it to those instances and gotten responses, how would you ever know?

@knotteye I'd have to hope that some of the instances haven't been suspended, I guess?

@cassolotl Luckily you don’t have to hope, you can look at the moderation policies of your instance and find out that the only instance that has a decent sized GC population that isn’t suspended or silenced is cliterati.club

I appreciate what you’re doing, but asking for someone’s (anyone’s) perspective and then not giving them a way to respond to you is a bit disingenuous. Especially if you later talk about how they must not have had anything to say if they didn’t say it.

Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t, but you wouldn’t know either way.

@knotteye This isn't the only place I've posted my request, it's a crosspost from Twitter and I left it up because why not, the assumption that gender-critical people only hang out on gender-critical instances (or will definitely talk about it on other instances and then get banned) seems unfounded, the wiki page I link to in the thread links to a list of ways to contact me so if people can't reply on the fediverse they can find other ways, and I've already had responses on the fediverse by DM.

@knotteye

> Especially if you later talk about how they must not have had anything to say if they didn’t say it.

Good job I have no intention of doing that?

@knotteye

> you can look at the moderation policies of your instance and find out that the only instance that has a decent sized GC population that isn’t suspended or silenced is cliterati.club

That only tells me about suspended instances and I don't have a list of gender-critical instances to compare it with, so for all I know we are connected to lots of gender-critical instances. Having a list of suspended instances doesn't tell me much.

@cassolotl I just assumed that the biggest gender-critical instances were common knowledge I suppose.

Still.. this isn’t exactly a fair shake for their perspective, you know? Like, either here or on twitter, you’re probably not surrounding yourself with GC perspectives. I know I’m not, I don’t really wanna see that stuff on a daily basis. So if I actually wanted to hear what GC people have to say, just posting something and having it boosted 20-30 or so times, either here or on twitter, isn’t really gonna give any reasonable number of GC people a chance to hear or respond to it.

And giving them a fair shake would seem to me to be a prerequisite to publicly saying you’ve given them a chance and no one’s come forward.

I have no intention of doing that Maybe I interpreted this differently than you meant it.

@cassolotl Fucking markdown. Last bit was supposed to be

I have no intention of doing that

Maybe I interpreted this differently than you meant it.

@knotteye

> Maybe I interpreted this differently than you meant it.

I think so. I wasn't being sarcastic.

I am fine with the way I'm approaching this thing, which I'm doing for my own personal interest and not to argue with gender-critical people. So I'm not going to continue to discuss your criticism of my methods of ongoing casual personal curiosity.

@knotteye If you have any links to relevant articles I can put on my wiki page then I'm interested, though, obviously.

@cassolotl Haha, no I don’t have anything. I’m skeptical that anything like that has really happened.

@cassolotl >I’m not going to continue to discuss your criticism of my methods of ongoing casual personal curiosity

Yeah that’s a pretty reasonable response to my inane questioning.

@knotteye @cassolotl I like jumping onto tiny instances because I don't like the moderation policy game. I just wanna tweet and read tweets, no bs.

@fuck @cassolotl I just self-host so I can use moderation tools in place of blocking and muting and all that stuff.
