when someone misgenders me and i don't correct them, it's not because i don't care about getting misgendered, but rather because i don't care enough about my relationship to that person to put myself through the stress of explaining who i am to them. or because i feel unsafe.
@Kingbird This is very important and I wish more people would understand this, especially the random cashiers who tentatively call me "sir" when they aren't sure and then double down on it and are all "sir, sir, thank you sir, have a nice day sir" after I don't correct them.
Or also folks I interact with all the time who completely ignore my very prominently stated pronouns everywhere.
