@JakeKof No salt here. I like how the Crystal Gems are 4 people plus friends against an intergalactic empire, and they're winning (or at least making real progress) because Steven is so good at empathy and making friends.
My Little Pony (which I also like) has a similar emphasis on turning enemies into friends, but that often feels unrealistic because they rush it. SU feels very emotionally plausible, and I think that's why it succeeds.

@JakeKof Yes, but also more: it's the personification of the whole relationship between two people. Relationships can be healthy or not, stable or not. Garnet is a marriage that's so old and so strong that you hardly ever see one without the other
Our world could use more celebration of strong, mature relationships. 😃
